A Rocha is an international family of Christian organisations that, inspired by God’s love, are committed to scientific research, environmental education and community conservation projects in over 20 countries on six continents.
We are responding to the global crisis of biodiversity loss by running community conservation projects through :
– ecological monitoring and research in areas of high wildlife value;
– practical measures to conserve and restore habitats and their flora and fauna;
– participation in nature conservation, through environmental education and raising community awareness;
– organising a forum to help people understand the relevance of the Christian faith to environmental issues.
A Rocha means ‘the rock’ in Portuguese
Our first initiative was a field study centre in Portugal.
