Management of natural spaces
A Rocha France is committed to preserving ecosystems by managing two major sites: Domaine des Courmettes in the Alpes-Maritimes and Mas Mireille in the Vallée des Baux. These projects combine scientific research, awareness-raising and practical action to protect biodiversity.
Main goals
- Protecting natural habitats: Promoting the resilience of local ecosystems by restoring and maintaining habitats for a variety of flora and fauna.
- Encouraging sustainable management: Applying methods that respect the environment, while involving local communities.
- Raising awareness and providing training: Educating the public about ecological issues through workshops, training courses and educational visits.
Actions on managed sites
- Domaine des Courmettes (Alpes-Maritimes):
- Preservation of biodiversity: studies on local flora and fauna, management of natural environments (limestone areas, forests, meadows).
- Access for all: Signposted trails and awareness-raising activities to discover ecology in a unique setting.
- Educational commitment: Organisation of holidays and activities focusing on climate and ecological issues.
- Mas Mireille (Vallée des Baux):
- Preservation of biodiversity: Contribution to the management of the Ilon Regional Nature Reserve, management of wetlands on private land, maintenance of a network of nest boxes, planting of hedges, etc.
- Scientific studies: Monitoring biodiversity and sharing data with scientific and local partners.
- Local initiatives: Raising awareness among the public and local stakeholders through guided nature walks and one-off events.
