Time for Creation 2023 – Resources for Leading Worship

Temps pour la création

In this outline, you will find resources that can be used to organize a worship service as part of “Time for Creation 2023” (September 1 to October 4), or at any other time that suits you.

Our key verse, Amos 5:24, reminds us that God asks his people to act with righteousness and justice. The overexploitation of resources, the collapse of biodiversity, and climate change affect the most vulnerable first. Acting in favor of creation is a way not only to honor our Creator, but also to care for our neighbors.

We wish you a rich time of worship.

The outline includes the order of service, biblical references and texts, a list of songs and links to the sheet music, the outline of the message, and prayers.
These different parts can be presented in order or adapted to the format of your service.

Overview of the order of service:

  • Welcome/Opening – Texts and prayer to open the service.
  • Confession, Intercession – Through these prayers, we acknowledge our limitations and ask for God’s help.
  • Testimonies – Sharing experiences from around the world.
  • Message – Safeguarding creation: a question of love and justice
  • Presentation of A Rocha – A video presenting the work of A Rocha and concrete examples of safeguarding creation.
  • Blessing/sending forth – To conclude the celebration, you will find a word of sending forth and blessing for the congregation.
