An interview with Timothée Schwartz on the conservation and restoration of the Baux marshes
The Scientific Director of A Rocha France, Timothée Schwartz, answered a few questions for Ornithomedia about the rich biodiversity and conservation work carried out by the association in favour of the wetlands in the Vallée des Baux (Bouches du Rhône).
Situated at the interface with a wide variety of habitats, the wetlands of the Vallée des Baux are home to numerous species, some of them rare and endangered, which have been endangered by drainage for agricultural purposes. That’s why A Rocha France has been involved in saving the marshes of the Vallée des Baux since it was founded in 2000.
After a general presentation of the marshes in the Vallée des Baux, read Timothée Schwartz’s answers to Ornithomédia’s questions about A Rocha France’s actions, particularly for birds, and the ecological interest of the area.
