Have you ever heard of eco-theology? Are you curious about what the Christian faith can contribute to the ecological crises? We invite you to sign up for the Creation Care seminar with Dave Bookless, Director of Theology with A Rocha International, which will take place from 12 to 18 September at Les Courmettes.

This week will mark the end of our summer series of group visits to Les Courmettes (but we will still welcome a few groups this autumn!). We have already had seven events and the results are very positive: moments of wonder, contemplation, rest and renewal in the magnificent setting of Les Courmettes, beautiful encounters, rich moments over good meals… We have also had excellent exchanges on the links between Christian faith and ecology, digging into both the scientific and theological aspects. We warmly thank all the participants of these seminars and groups for all that they brought to us and we hope to see them again soon, at Les Courmettes or elsewhere!

Volunteer opportunities

A huge thank you also to all the great volunteers who helped us this summer, whether it was for welcoming groups or for species monitoring, for working in the garden or for hosting dances… What a privilege to have benefited from your helpfulness and availability!

You too can sign up as a volunteer at Les Courmettes! We are particularly looking to strengthen our team for the week with Dave Bookless between 10 and 20 September, and then for the week with A Rocha Netherlands and one or two other visits (to be confirmed) between 15 October and 8 November. And more great wildlife observations

This summer has also provided us with some great wildlife sightings. Butterflies have been particularly abundant, and the lavender planted in recent years in front of the buildings has drawn our attention to the diversity of bees, bumblebees and wasps that can be found at Les Courmettes. We were also surprised to have the company of a juvenile ocellated lizard in front of the buildings for a few days!

We are looking forward to autumn, with the landscapes flooded by the light at the beginning and end of the day, and the passage of migratory birds returning from their breeding grounds. Do not hesitate to come to Les Courmettes this autumn; to participate in a residential week, as a volunteer or on holiday in one of our gîtes, to bask in the sun of Les Courmettes!
